One of the first things that bloggers do when they attend an event where they announced a new smartphone is said to compare intelligent performance against other, more established names in the smartphone industry. Our friends at Engadget did exactly this in the Nokia World yesterday, where Nokia has announced its first smartphone based on Windows Phone 7 called Lumia 800, comparing its performance against the iPhone browser II.SlashGear 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S separate browser compares the performance of the 800 4S Lumia against the iPhone and the Galaxy S II. Performance tests are hardly scientific, since it is not conducted in a controlled environment. The two tests are therefore anecdotal and suggest you do not reach a conclusion based on them.

Earlier this month, Apple launched the iPhone 4S with a mixed response - which many fans were disappointed Apple did not release a completely new "iPhone 5."

In the center of the assembly of the iPhone 4S is Foxconn, a Taiwanese company that produces several investment iPhone parts and assembling the final product. Foxconn is mainly based in Shenzhen, however in recent years, the company has expanded its production base to other cities to deal with higher labor costs in the traditional centers, such as Shenzhen.

That is what they refer to love as an Apple fan-boy. The launch of the new iPhone 4s led to a debate almost instantly how soon they could get, waiting in line at the store or pre-order? Meanwhile, I shook my head and wondered, is it really so different from the iPhone 4?

Many people hope that Apple will release an iPhone 5. Apparently, the method behind the names of Apple phone is that the sheer number of updates are reserved for a more revolutionary design update, usually involve a significant change in the way the phone looks and works.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 4S looks identical to the iPhone's 4 and still only capable of operating at 3G speeds, can not take advantage of 4G speeds and better access to data available in big cities. However, when all is said and done there are some great performance upgrades on the phone.

It is twice faster than the iPhone 4, what programs launch faster. The graphics chip is seven times faster than before, allowing you to play games that look as good as an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. It is more intuitive than traditional speech recognition, although I have to say that listening to my husband try to have a phone conversation with her makes me laugh.

Another interesting feature is that the iPhone now supports 4s Airplay, so that air may show what is on your phone to your TV or monitor (with the addition of an Apple TV to your home theater can recognize the input) . This may be ideal for watching movies, showing photos taken with better camera, or even play a few rounds of Angry Birds Rio on the big screen. Speaking of the camera, which now has 8 megapixels and is easy to get, so do not miss the shot, while you fumble with unlocking your phone and search for the camera application. The iPhone 4S is designed identical to the iPhone 4, but their insides are all new. Although it might be a disappointment to some people (not bigger screen, thinner body there, not tear-shaped game design for children), I am actually very happy with it. I really like the design of the iPhone 4: Still the thinnest smartphone available (although Samsung), and has a style, thanks, premium look to the side glass and back.

I'm a little disappointed to see that the screen space was not a bump. I'm definitely not asking for a 4.5-inch screen (which is very big in my opinion), but 4 inches or 3.7 inches would surf the Web, watch movies, games and a little more comfortable. Ramon Llamas, senior research analyst with IDC's mobile devices technology and trends, says that keeping the same screen size is actually a benefit to consumers and developers.

"You have all these amazing applications [in the App Store]. If you make a different screen size, which will cause havoc in the community of developers," says Llamas. A compatible screen size is one reason why the App Store has a wide range of applications, he adds.

The best camera? Hard to say

Most companies that do are based on the failure of consumers to understand the technology or know what it means to the specifications. This confusion is often the case with the specifications of the camera, so I asked my colleague Tim Moynihan, PC World editor camera to decipher some of the specifications announced for the iPhone 4S camera.

Apple says the new iPhone 8 megapixel camera is built around a rear illumination sensor (BSI) CMOS, a form optimized for low light sensors that debuted on the Sony cameras some years ago. Sensors BSI are now quite common in CMOS-based cameras, both cameras and independent a growing number of camera phones.

A BSI sensor is designed so that small, light cable lock switch to the back of the sensor, so the sensor surface more efficient source light collection, as such, BSI-sensor cameras usually perform well in low light without flash. The iPhone 4 5 megapixel sensor also a BSI sensor, and was very good, the new sensor in the iPhone 4S is likely that a higher resolution version.

Apple also says that the iPhone 4S has a lens of five elements that clearly offers 30 percent more. According to Moynihan, the specifications of the lens sound good, but we will need to test Apple's claims of improved image sharpness in our laboratories. More pixels do better?

When packing a sensor the same size, more pixels, you can end up with a lot of noise and artifacts. Again, this is something we'll have to test when we have the iPhone 4S in.

The iPhone 4S is designed identical to the iPhone 4, but their insides are all new. More pixels do better?
